Author Brian Johnson will read from his book, Send Judah First: The Erased Life of an Enslaved Soul.
The event will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in Old Main Chapel.
Johnson earned his bachelor’s and master's degrees in English in 1994 and 1996. He has served as a faculty member in the department of academic enrichment at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and was the director of the Frederick Douglass Institute for Academic Excellence. He is a founder of the Pennsylvania Association of Liaisons and Officers of Multicultural Affairs, a consortium that promotes best practices in higher education.
Send Judah First, a work of historical fiction, brings to life many real people who were enslaved at Belle Grove Plantation in the early 1800s.
