For the fourth straight season, Cal U’s Women’s Rugby Club will compete in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Women’s 7s National Championships

The 16-team event runs from April 27-28 at Founders Field in Cheswick, Pa. Cal U is one of 10 returning teams. Ten states will be represented in this year’s event.

Under the guidance of fourth-year head coach and alumna Brittany Marnell '11, '12, Cal U opens play at 11 a.m. April 27 against York College (Pa.) on Field 1. 

Then Cal U will switch to Field 2 and face Rochester University (NY) at 12:40 p.m. and MiraCosta Community College (Calif.) at 2:20 p.m. Teams will be seeded based on pool play for the remainder of the tournament. 

Last year Cal U finished a program-best 12th place. 

All games will be played on two fields concurrently. Only games on Field 1 will be live-streamed on the NSCRO Women’s YouTube Channel.
