Accepted Student Receptions

Cal U’s offices of Undergraduate Admissions and Articulation and Transfer Evaluation are hosting two events for accepted first-year and transfer students noon-1 p.m. May 27 and 6-7 p.m. May 28.

During the virtual experience, accepted students will meet with Cal U administration, staff, and students; connect with other members of the Class of 2024; and learn more about student life and New Student Orientation.

Transfer counselors will be on hand, and there will also be a parent and family session. Among the guest speakers will be T. David Garcia, vice president for Enrollment Management, and Tracey Sheetz, dean of Undergraduate Admissions.

He will participate in the “Meet the PASSHE Team” webinar at 1 p.m. May 19 and the “Admissions Survival 101” webinar at 1 p.m. May 26.

On May 19, admissions representatives will discuss academic programs, student life and the first steps of the admissions process. On May 26, experts will advise students on making a good first impression during the admissions process.

“We will also cover topics such as communication etiquette, writing essays, emails, other writing forms, the application process, and guidance on how to approach virtual visit options, and so on,” Tarpley said.
