The Foundation for California University has presented its 2020 awards to the following individuals for service to the University and other notable achievements and contributions:
Job Johnson Award
Jesse Hereda ’04 is the executive director of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and is a former member of the Foundation Board of Directors. He and his life partner, Daniel Wu, have established the endowed Jesse G. Hereda Honors Program Scholarship and the endowed Dr. Melanie J. Blumberg Political Science Scholarship, named after the late professor of political science at Cal U. The Job Johnson Award recognizes alumni for excellence, innovation, community service or other achievements.
Drs. William and Carol Biddington were recognized for their unselfish service to the University. Carol Biddington is a faculty member in the Department of Exercise Sciences and Sport Studies; Bill is a retired faculty member in that department and former interim dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research. They have established the endowed Drs. William and Carol Biddington Scholarship for students who play softball at Cal U.
Society of 1852 Award
Dave ’78 and Cathy ’78 Rohm were recognized for their philanthropy. The couple established the endowed Cathy and Dave Rohm Scholarship fund, which awards scholarships to students majoring in technology education and communication disorders. Dave is retired as former owner and then vice president of an educational sales company. Cathy was a speech-language therapist.
