Speaker to Discuss Business Practices

Michael Carney

A recent graduate of Cal U’s M.B.A. program will discuss the role of business leaders in creating a more inclusive and sustainable society at 11 a.m. March 4.

Michael Carney will speak as part of Cal U’s Graduate School Speaker Series. 

“If we look through the lens of foundational business literature, we see that some decisions from those in leadership positions can be detrimental to the evolution of best ideas and practices,” Carney said.

Carney, who also earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Cal U, lives in State College, Pa., and works in sales for a large industrial supplier. As a graduate student at cal u, he worked alongside Drs. Elizabeth jones and Stephanie Adam, helping to build and implement courses for the undergraduate and graduate business programs. 

In 2020, he presented his work, “Management’s Inception: Creating a More Conscious Learning Environment,” virtually at the Eastern Council of Business Schools and Programs, a regional division of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. 

Carney will present his work in June 2021 at the ACBSP national conference.
