The Center for Undergraduate Research at California University will hold its 7th Annual Strike a Spark Conference on Research Scholarship and Creative Activity on April 20. This conference highlights the efforts of students in research, scholarship and creative expression. Presentations from all disciplines are welcome, and students from the Edinboro and Clarion campuses are encouraged to participate.

Students: You are invited to showcase work from an individual project, class project, capstone experience or senior/graduate thesis. Joint student-faculty presentations are permitted. To present at the conference, either virtually or in person, you must submit an abstract. An abstract is a brief summary of the work you want to present (200 words or less) intended to interest conference participants in your presentation.

You can submit for four categories:

  • Poster presentation
  • Paper/oral presentation
  • Creative work exhibit
  • Performance

Faculty: Please submit an abstract that covers multiple students in a particular course where posters, oral presentations or creative works are developed in class assignments. Proposals for panel sessions also will be considered.

Abstract guides and examples and the online submission form are available. Submissions are due by midnight, Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Late or incomplete proposals will not be accepted. Submission questions can be directed to Dr. Azadeh M Block at block@calu.edu.
