The WestPACS Collegiate Career Fair will be March 9-10.
Over 150 employers and 40 graduate schools will be on taking part in one of the largest job, internship and graduate school fairs in the United States.
The WestPACS Collegiate Career Fair will be held over two days. The in-person career fair will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9 at the Monroeville Convention Center, while a virtual fair will occur 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10 via Handshake.
Students and alumni interested in attending one or both days of the fair can register at https://westpacs.org/.
The fair, which began in 1988, is the largest job, internship and graduate school fair for college students and alumni of over 50 member schools throughout Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions.
The WestPACS fair is a chance for college students and alumni to begin their journey to their career of choice.
"WestPACS makes it easy for internship and job seekers to get face time with lots of potential employers in one place at one time — whether you choose to meet with employers of your choice in a one-on-one session or a group session,” said Rhonda Gifford, Career and Professional Development Center director.
“Students and alumni who attend and are well prepared tell us that they get interviews that lead to internships and jobs. It's a can't-miss opportunity."
Senior computer science major Andrew Spate attended the WestPACS fair in the fall and said the experience was crucial toward beginning his career.
“The WestPACS career fair is a great opportunity to quickly meet and interview with a number of companies,” he said. “Ultimately one of my sessions led to a full length interview the following day. It was great to see some employers really take advantage of the time to ask meaningful questions that have helped in subsequent interviews.”
The Cal U Career Center will host a job fair prep workshop at 11:15 a.m. March 1, Gifford said. Natalie Miller, Group Talent Acquisition Manager at Enterprise Holdings, will give tips for students and alumni on how to take full advantage of WestPACS.
