This amazing documentary follows a gem stone as it is sourced from the mines in Tanzania, to the gem cutter and finally to the American market. Learn how our consumer culture impacts other nations and cultures.

6:00pm Professional Practices talk by visiting artist, Yoko Sekino-Bové.
Born in Japan and graduating from Musashino Art University in Tokyo, one of the top schools in the world for graphic design, Yoko spent almost a decade as a graphic designer and free-lance artist in the highly competitive Los Angeles market before finding a new creative voice in the field of ceramics. An internationally recognized and award winning ceramic artist and designer, Yoko’s technical articles are published in Pottery Making Illustrated and she is one of the featured NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts) affiliated solo and group exhibitors for the upcoming 2018 conference to be held in Pittsburgh.
