*Bob Marley (Robert Nesta Marley), Jamaican singer-songwriter, was born on this day in 1945.Known internationally for his musical style, blending reggae and ska, he was recognized as cultural icon and “international peace ambassador”1.

*Established on this day in 1867, the Peabody Fund promoted Black education in the South

*First organized migration of U.S. Blacks back to Africa, from New York to Sierra Leone, 1820
