Cardboard City is a campus-wide, fundraising event in which groups, clubs, and organizations will simulate homelessness and raise awareness by constructing and “living” in cardboard houses from 9am-6pm on April 20th, 2018.

There will be food, music, and more!

The cost of participation is $40 per team, which can be paid by either cash or check (payable to SAI) the day of the event or through an SAI account transfer by Friday, April 13th, 2018.

Please RSVP on Orgsync  by midnight on Friday April 13th, 2018.

Rules and Regulations:

·        Each team will be given various materials in which they will be expected to construct a shelter related to the event’s theme.

·        A representative from each team must arrive at the turf between 9-11am to check in and receive materials.

·        Once the team in checked in, construction can begin. Please note that the earlier you check in, the more time you will have to build.

·        Building will conclude at 3pm and the structure will be judged between
3-4pm by a committee of judges consisting of Calu faculty and staff.

·        Pre-prepared decorations and building materials may be used so long as they do not damage the turf. No paint is allowed.

·        From 3-5pm, one representative from each team must “live” in your structure. This representative can alternate with any team member so long as one person remains in the structure. Failure to do this will result in disqualification.

·        All teams are responsible for cleaning up from 5-6pm. All cardboard must be taken to the designated disposal areas. All other trash must be disposed in provided receptacles.

Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on campus. Anyone found in possession of drugs or alcohol or suspected to be under the influence will be asked to leave and their team will be disqualified.
