Join us for a Faculty Forum Event titled "Handling Hot Topics in the Classroom." It is scheduled for Thursday May 3 at 11am in Eberly 110.

The APSCUF Gender and Social Justice Committee and FPDC’s Teaching and Learning Subcommittee are collaborating for this event and we hope you can join us!

THERE WILL BE FREE FOOD!

On May 3, from 11am-12pm in Eberly 110, several faculty will spend a few minutes sharing their most effective approaches and strategies for how they handle challenging topics in their classrooms, and then we will open up the floor for a discussion among faculty. This will not be a debate about “hot topics” themselves. Sometimes current events (such as mass shootings or racially charged crimes) or class content result in students who are eager to discuss and to process real world issues. The goal of the faculty forum is to share ideas and to learn pedagogy and strategies from each other that will best help our students and each other.

We know this is a VERY busy time of year, but but we hope you can join us for this professional opportunity for us as colleagues to collaborate as we close this spring semester.

DID WE MENTION THERE WILL BE FREE FOOD?

Please RVSP to Cindy Speer (speer@calu.edu) so that we have a count on how many will be attending.

We hope to see you Thursday May 3 at 11am in Eberly 110!
