GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITION
Office of International Programming and Study Away
Semester Position Only (excluding summer) - Starting Fall 2018
300 hours per semester / 20 hours per week
The graduate assistant for the Office of International Programming and Study Away requires that the successful candidate possess experience with a majority of following activities.

Participation in study abroad or domestic exchange as a student.

Engagement in multicultural activities.

Demonstrated success as an organization or group leader.
-
Engagement in community service.
-
Knowledge and promotion of social media platforms.
-
Mentoring peers.
-
Promotional activities.
This position requires:

Learning and maintaining knowledge of general functions, policies and practices of the office in order to respond to general inquiries.

Excellent communications skills.
-
Establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with students from a wide variety of countries and cultures.

Consistent practice of effective customer service.
-
Promotion of student leadership in association with members of the International Club.
-
Ability to represent the Office at university student recruitment functions – work hours may be required evenings or weekends on a minimal basis.

Knowledge of Word and Excel software programs.
-
Driving of university vehicle to transport students from Pittsburgh International Airport – perhaps once or twice at the beginning of each semester (valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required).

Occasional evening and/or weekend assignment hours.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
