Student Affairs and the University Housing Office are committed to providing comfortable, welcoming, and safe housing options for all students. As a part of the University Housing office’s ongoing commitment to developing a campus community that is welcoming and inclusive, we are proud to offer the “Diversity, Equality, & Inclusion” (DEI) community. The DEI community is a space intended to celebrate and promote the diverse backgrounds of all its residents. Whether ability, body size/appearance, gender identity and expression, nationality, political affiliation, sexual orientation, social class, race, religion/spirituality, or other identities, students are encouraged to bring their true selves to this special community. Located in Smith Hall, students who select to live in this community will be encouraged to embrace their identities.  Through a variety of programs and activities, the DEI community offers a dynamic experience for students wishing to grow as community leaders, excel academically, and build support and community ties. The community also offers the option of gender-inclusive roommate pairings, for those interested. If you are interested or know someone that would benefit from being a part of our exciting new community next year, please encourage them to contact Sheleta Camarda-Webb (camardawebb@calu.edu) or Shawn McCoy (mccoy@calu.edu).
