NEW Intro Fine Art Gen Ed: ART 295 CRN 30195 Surface Design M&W, 12-2:45.

Undecided about which Fine Art courses to take for the fall of 2018?

ART 295 is officially a new Fine Art General Education course. It also counts as a Printmaking course toward an art certificate or a printmaking concentration.

ART 295 exposes everyone to the fun and accessible art, design and craft of surface images and designs not covered in typical graphic design and art programs today. With designs prepared ahead of time, all of the projects are easily completed in class.

ART 295 is designed as an intro course set up as a series of quick, fun, and workshops exploring pattern and non-pattern designs. We employ hand-designs and fast and easy basic computer pattern designs.

Most of the class involves quick experiences with:

Printmaking on paper and cloth, glass etching, 'Porcelain' permanent-painting of tiles, and different techniques of marbling on paper, cloth and objects.  If time permits, we will also try copper etching.  This is also a great course for teachers!

If you have any questions, please ask!

Please note:    If the time slot of ART 295 conflicts with your schedule by an hour overlap at the beginning or the end, speak to our department Administrative Assistant, Darla Holmes, in the Art and Languages office in Vulcan 100, ground floor, and she can override the conflict to sign you up with the instructor's permission. )
