Cal U Theatre is seeking graduate assistant applications for the following positions for Fall 2018. Interested candidates must be a full-time grad student and eligible for a 300 hour per semester slot.

Positions: Box Office GA, Outreach GA, Scene Shop Assistant GA
Box Office GA Description
· Answering phones, greeting visitors to the Theatre Box Office and performing other standard office tasks.
· Coordinating and training Box Office Work studies.
· Preparing recruitment table for lobby for all departmental shows, student matinees and other appropriate events.
· Preparing and maintaining recruitment materials used for Open Houses, Conferences and other events as needed.
· Overseeing staffing of Open House activity fairs and other appropriate campus events.
· Making sure that names are entered into the correct databases following any recruitment event.
· Sending out recruitment packets.
· Prepare materials for auditions and interviews of incoming students and enter collected data into database.
· Maintain Departmental Mailing List.
· Carry out fundraising/audience engagement tasks as assigned.
· Overseeing work studies to implement these tasks when appropriate.
· Other tasks as needed with assisting other work centers and graduate student responsibilities.
· This position must serve in the Box Office for at least 10 hours per week.
Required skills
This position is 20 hours a week, which include evenings and weekends.
Outreach GA Description
· Serve as a TA as needed for Theatre Faculty, performing tasks including but not limited to grading, photocopying and tracking attendance.
· Answering phones, greeting visitors to the Theatre Office and performing other standard office tasks.
· Creating study guides for all shows or helping assigned student dramaturg create study guide and facilitating schools and/or audience members getting them.
· Creating and implementing a lobby display for each show or working with classes/individual students assigned to work on lobby display.
· Maintaining regular correspondence with schools and the community about shows and other opportunities within the department.
· Maintaining the school database.
· Overseeing work studies to implement these tasks when appropriate.
· Other tasks as needed with assisting other work centers and graduate student responsibilities.

This position is 20 hours a week, which include evenings and weekends.
Shop GA Description
· Oversee work study students in areas including scenery, paint, props, electrics, etc.
· Complete or facilitate weekly checklists in shop
· Keep budget spreadsheet updated weekly and track receipts
· Check props in and out and track returns of borrowed stock
· Prep materials for various technical classes
Required skills
· Ability to complete tasks independently

· Excellent time management
· Can lift 40lbs.
· Basic shop skills, or willingness to acquire shop skills
· Willing to lead undergraduates
This position reports to the technical faculty and staff in the Theatre Department.
This position is 20 hours a week, mostly during standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends.
