Clearing the items is a great way to let everyone in the student’s success network know that the student has been contacted or assisted.

 

 

Click HERE to watch a two minute tutorial.

 

 

 

Log into VIP -> Click the Starfish link -> Select the “Students Tab”

 

This will pull up a list of all the students to whom you are currently connected.

 

Click the Tracking Tab

 

This will pull up a list of all students associated to you with a tracking item.

 

You have two option: Clearing Individual Flags or Clearing a Group of Flags

 

Clearing Individual Flags->

 

·         Hover over the tracking icon

 

·         A Pop Up box will appear

 

·         Click clear in the right corner, and add a comment on how the student was assisted. The top comment box is for your personal comments. These will be save din Starfish. The bottom ‘close the loop’ box sends a note back to the instructor or student with any feedback or action that you took for the student.

 

·         Even by not entering notes, and clicking submit, the student or instructor will know that you acknowledged the flag.

 

Clearing a Group Flag->

 

·         Under the tracking tab select multiple students at once by clicking on the check box next to each students’ name. 

 

·         Click the Resolve button and make your comment. 

 

·         You will then be able to submit feedback for multiple students at once. 

 

·         These notes will be saved within the student’s folder.
