Faculty members, did you know if you set up office hours in Starfish, students can possibly make appointments with you?
Wondering how you can do this?
· Log into VIP and click Starfish
· Before you can post office hours, you must set up your office location.
· Click your name, Appointments, Preferences tab and click the green Plus button under My Locations to set your location.
To create Office Hours:
Select Appointments then Office Hours to create a single or recurring set of office hours. You will need to fill out the following fields:
· Title: Displays on your calendar to distinguish sets of office hours
· Where: Options are added via Profile, Appointment, Preferences tab and My Locations
· Office Hour Type: Scheduled and Walk-Ins
To see your Office Hours click the Agenda tab
**Note- We are asking faculty to at least either:
1. Set up your office hours (at a minimum) in Starfish for student viewing, to do this select “Walk-Ins only” or
2. Set up office hours and accept student appointments. If you select “Scheduled and Walk-ins” or “Scheduled Appointments Only” students will be able to schedule appointments with you online via Starfish.
· Appointment instructions can be added as well as a Start/End date for this block of hours.
· Additional blocks of hours can be created by repeating the steps above.
· Edit/Cancel a series of office hours from the Agenda view. Hover over this icon to edit the frequency, time of day, locations, office hour types, minimum and maximum duration of appointments, appointment types, instructions, or start/end date of the series.
· Edit/Cancel individual occurrences from the Day view of the Calendar. Hover over the icon to display a pop-up card from which you can take additional action.
