Between October 1 and today, we have honored LGBTQA individuals and events that have made positive contributions, both national and international. From entertainment to the world of sports, from politics to religion, and from Wall Street to Washington, D.C., these figures have courageously carried a torch that lights the way for today’s LGBTQA community and all of society. They are a testament to no matter how you identify or whom you love; you can achieve greatness, break down barriers, make an impact, and show the world that we have more similarities than differences.

As noted by Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senator-

"All of us who are openly gay are living and writing the history of our movement. We are no more - and no less - heroic than the suffragists and abolitionists of the 19th century; and the labor organizers, Freedom Riders, Stonewall demonstrators, and environmentalists of the 20th century. We are ordinary people, living our lives, and trying as civil-rights activist Dorothy Cotton said, to 'fix what ain't right' in our society."
