We are in need of hiring two (2) students to work one (1) four hour shift from 6pm-10pm during the week and one (1) four hour shift during the weekend, either Saturday from 8am-noon or Sunday 5pm-9pm, for the SPRING 2019 SEMESTER.  The job description is as follows:

Students will be given equipment to use during their shift.  All items will be returned at the end of their shift.

Check buildings for unlocked doors and safety issues.  Call in any unlocked doors: reporting the room, building and time, and then securing the unlocked door.  This will be done at the direction of your supervisor.

Buildings will need to be secured at the beginning of your shift (Mon-Thurs).

Student workers are Not Permitted in the Residence Halls while they are working.  Permission can be given for specific cases.

 

  1. Assist University Police with student escorts

  2. Report to University Police any criminal activity which is witnessed

  3. Checking campus for any unsafe conditions/areas

  4. Report to University Police any damaged or broken property

  5. Assist University Police with unlocking and locking rooms and buildings

  6. Assist police with metal detectors for special events

  7. Assisting officers when requested – avoid contact with officers during the performance of their duty.  Be an observer but don’t get involved – NO VIDEO OR AUDIO DEVICES TO BE USED.

NOTE:  Student Security must be able to walk campus and able to lock/unlock buildings in a timely manner throughout their shift in order to perform their duties.  Unless otherwise directed by their supervisor, students will not remain in one designated area for any length of time.
