Transgender Remembrance Day

Since 1998, on this day, we pause to remember and honor transgender people around the world whose lives have been lost to anti-transgender violence.
So far this year, in the United States, 22 transgender people* have been victims of fatal violence. TDOR raises public awareness of hate crimes against transgender people and allows family and friends to publicly mourn and honor the lives of those who otherwise might be forgotten and gives allies a chance to step forward, stand vigil and memorialize the individuals whose lives were tragically cut short because of who they were.
