Upward Bound at California University is now accepting applications for residential staff positions (Resident Assistants and Resident Tutors) for the program’s upcoming 2019 Summer Academy, which will run from June 3 to July 12.  This is an excellent opportunity for education majors or anyone hoping to work with youth or education fields in the future!

Applicants must be enrolled in college and have earned at least 48 college credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (Resident Tutor); at least 60 college credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (Resident Assistant) or have a bachelor’s degree.  All selected candidates must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check and obtain required clearances.  Preference may be given to those who have worked in residence halls or with similar programs.

All positions require living in an on-campus residence hall for 24 hours/day while students are on campus.  Housing is provided and meals are also provided while students are on campus.  Resident Tutors will receive a pre-tax salary of $2,110 while the Resident Assistants will receive a pre-tax salary of $2,310.

Please note this is not a work study position.  Additionally given their complex duties and responsibilities, Resident Tutors and Resident Assistants will not be able to take classes during the time they are employed with Upward Bound.

For more information and an application, please email upwardbound@calu.edu .

Completed applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 15.
