You don?t like to write? You have a fear of writing? You don?t think you write well? No need to worry. Help is on the way. Please sign up for the session 1 online Composition I class. The professor will walk you through the writing process step by step. You will be provided hands-on writing instructions and ongoing feedback on your writing. All of the exercises and writing projects will work toward your final paper. In essence, you will be working on your final project from day one of class. Students who engage, submit work on time, follow directions, and incorporate the instructor?s feedback will become better writers by the end of the six weeks.

Summer 2019 Session 3 (6/3 - 8/9)
Dr. Aune, Department of English

For many of us, cartoons (the ones played on Saturday mornings) were made for children and have little value beyond a good laugh. Like fairy tale characters, talking animals such as Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Droopy, Woody Woodpecker or Ren & Stimpy are just funny characters. In this online section of ENG 101, we will challenge those assumptions, looking at a range of animated films and characters from the earliest days of film to the present.

English 102 College Composition II: Writing about Writing
Sec. W01 CRN 20234 (online)
Summer 2019 Session 5 (7/1 - 8/9)
Dr. House, Department of English

This online section of ENG 102 will challenge students to understand writing as far more than a skill that can be learned in an English class. In this offering of English 102, students will be asked these questions:
1) Why do you write?
2) Who are you as a writer?
3) When do you feel comfortable or uncomfortable while writing?
4) How does you writing evolve through the revision process? and
5) How have you developed as a writer this summer?

By learning to define and express your knowledge of writing, you will develop the expertise necessary to complete this course, but, perhaps more importantly, you?ll build knowledge you will transfer to other writing classes and assignments. Rather than teaching a set of skills necessary to complete the course assignments, this course will teach the methods of thinking about the writing process that will enable students to complete every course assignment.

English 102: Writing about Writing will help you develop the communication and research skills that are essential for success at Cal U and beyond.
