ART106 - Art Appreciation
Catalogue Description: This course provides a very approachable and easy-to-understand guide to the key visual design building blocks, materials, processes, styles and history of the whole of Western Art. Students will also gain reference knowledge of the key timeline of the major artists, artworks and art processes from the past and present, and why art developed the way it did.
This online course is designed to be enjoyable, rewarding, and stress-free as it is flexible in the schedule to make it work for busy people. Online instructor-written web-page weekly lessons are highly interactive, including short videos and other interactive features. The course builds connections across disciplines, makes you aware of your environment, and gives you the opportunity to explore art that interests you.
Art Appreciation is offered 100% online, is open to all undergraduate students, and counts as a Fine Arts General Education requirement. It is a 10 week online summer course, beginning June 3. You can register at http://vip.calu.edu
