Please join us for an end-of semester celebration and exhibition in Vulcan Hall on May 2. The Department of Art and Languages will be commemorating the retirement party of Darla Holmes with a triple-decker art exhibition-party on all three floors of Vulcan Hall, from 11am to 9pm. Live music sessions will be played by student musicians throughout the day, and refreshments will be served. Homemade food, baked goods, and fresh fruits and vegetables will be offered. Printmaking and Jewelry classes will display work in an opening reception in Vulcan gallery from 4 to 8pm, while Drawing and Painting students display artwork on the upper floors in an exhibition entitled Lights and Shades, featuring hand-crafted lamps and hand-painted lampshades by art and language students. Original ceramic lamps will also be available in the Pot Shop at the end-of-semester ceramics sale, which closes at 5pm on May 2. All artwork, lamps, and shades are for sale at reasonable prices. Please stop by to support student artists and wish Darla well in her new career!
