Grades in D2L

Are you utilizing the Grades tool in D2L to the fullest? This informational session will delve into what the settings of the Grades tool actually do and how they function. Final calculated grades, weighted grades, categories, bonus items, grade schemes, and more will be covered.

Student Identity and Securing Online Exams with Respondus Monitor

 

10:00am to 10:50am

 

CAL U has a license for Respondus Monitor. In conjunction with the LockDown Browser, Monitor records students via a webcam while they take their online exam in D2L. This training provides a detailed demonstration of both applications, including new enhancements that make Respondus Monitor even more effective and easy to use.

Intro to Microsoft OneDrive

 

11:00am to 11:50am

 

Utilizing the D2L/Brightspace OneDrive integration, using the OneDrive App on campus, installing and setting up the OneDrive App for home and personal systems, using the Cloud/web version of OneDrive, file sharing and collaboration, live editing and using OneDrive from mobile devices. Also, a brief preview of the Microsoft OneNote integration into D2L/Brightspace.

MyMediasite Quizzing Feature

 

1:00pm to 1:30pm

 

Mediasite – see how to upload videos into Mediasite platform via D2L.  Embed the videos into your course content and insert quiz questions into the videos.  Instructors can also view quiz scores and track student viewings.

 

At the end of this session during the open lab session, participants will have the opportunity to work on making videos (via making narrated PowerPoints videos and/or using a screencast recorder).  Once the videos are made, the videos can be uploaded into Mediasite /D2L.
