Yellow rock painted with the phrase "inhale courage, exhale fear" in black paint

Can individuals make a difference in the lives of others? YES! Walking around campus I saw a rock painted bright blue with the message "inhale courage, exhale fear" painted on it outside Azorsky Hall, similar to the one pictured here. It made me stop, take a deep breath, and think about how I would proceed through the rest of of my stressful day. One person made a difference in my day through an asychronous interaction.

If you are interested in exploring how individuals share messages, cultural traditions, meanings, and the impact of social interactions in small group settings, register for Sociology 411 Symbolic Interaction with Dr. Codie Stone now.

No textbook or previous Sociology experience necessary. Everyone is welcome in this class!

We will read selected articles and book chapters, watch and analyze media examples of class concepts, and discuss how our own lives are impacted by our interactions with others in our society and abroad. We will regularly share and discuss memes, social media posts, and our everyday interactions to analyze the messages ingrained in Cal U, PA, U.S., and global cultures.
