Jesse B. Guttman Student Research Grant

The Request for Proposals for Jesse B. Guttman Student Research Grants is now available.  The program rewards young scholars who are actively pursuing new avenues of academic achievement within their specific disciplines of study.  Research projects from all academic disciplines are encouraged and must be conducted with the guidance of a full-time Cal U faculty mentor/sponsor.  Students must be at least a junior (60+ credits) and currently enrolled in a Cal U degree program (undergraduate or graduate).

The deadline for applications is March 30, 2020 at 4:00 pm.  Email Douglas Hoover at for the complete application package.

This program was established to honor the late Jesse B. Guttman who along with his brothers, Leo and Howard, founded the Guttman Oil Company, Guttman Reality, and Mon River Towing. These companies, now under the umbrella of the Guttman Group, employ numerous individuals in the Mon Valley.
