The Office of University Housing  is recruiting Live-In Graduate Assistants for Fall 2020 


The University Housing Graduate Assistant is a live-in position that reports to their respective Resident Director (RD) and assists with daily operations in the residence halls. The GA responsibilities include making known university and residence hall policies and practices and fostering a welcoming and inclusive residential learning community. Other potential specialized areas of focus include facilitating housing organizations and assisting with CA recruitment and retention. The GA seeks to engage with residential students, promoting California University’s core values and a holistic student education.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements* 
§  Applicants must be admitted into a Master’s level degree seeking program and meet all entrance qualifications established by the Graduate School. 
§  Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of related/transferable Residence Life, Housing other experience in a university context.
§  Must be a full-time graduate student in good academic standing making reasonable progress toward a degree objective.
§  Possess assertive leadership skills and ability to work in a team. 
§  Possess effective communication skills to successfully approach people, mediate problem situations, and enforce policies. 
§  Maintain 3.0 GPA.

Preferred Qualifications* 
§  Past supervision experience with paraprofessional Residence Life or Housing staff. 
§  Past experience as a paraprofessional in Residence Life, Housing, or both as a staff member. 
§  Previous experience living on campus. 
§  Seeking a master's degree in College or Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to Residence Life and Housing strongly preferred.
