By now your campus should have announced the Request for Proposals for this year's Faculty Professional Development Council (FPDC) grants. If you haven't received this information yet, please contact your campus grants office. (Those contacts are listed at the end of this email.)
We want to make a special effort to promote this year's grant competition. The CBA that took effect this year has renewed funding for the program, albeit at a reduced overall amount. Nevertheless, we encourage all eligible faculty to consider taking advantage of this investment in PASSHE faculty. In a year of so many challenges, renewed funding for FPDC is a much needed bright spot.
In a special note to probationary faculty, we recognize that the budget set-aside for probationary faculty - a component of the FPDC program traditionally included in the CBA - was not included in the current agreement. In recognition of this fact, the full FPDC membership is committed to making every effort to ensure that our newest faculty members are not negatively impacted by the reduction in funding, while at the same time making funding decisions as equitably as possible.
