The Counselor Education Program at California University of Pennsylvania is offering

 9 & 12 credit certificates in Sports Counseling & Student Athlete Mental Wellness, Addictive Disorders, and Spiritual, Ethical, & Religious Counseling for Summer 2021!!!

Sports Counseling & SAMW Certificate (12 credits)
Sports counseling is a process that assists individuals in maximizing their personal, academic, and athletic potential. Sports counseling is accomplished through a proactive, growth-oriented, approach that incorporates the principles of counseling, career development, movement science, psychology, and lifespan human development. Counselors, educators, and other helping professionals should have specialized awareness, knowledge and skills beyond the basic counselor preparation as well as the ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships.

 CED 783 Counseling and Advising Athletes with Death, Loss and Grief

Addictive Disorders Certificate (9 credits)

Addictions counselors work with clients to determine addictions and mental health issues and lead them on a path to recovery and eliminating triggers. Adding the Advanced Addictions Counseling graduate certificate to a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling. Professionals in the addictions counseling field work as counselors, addictions experts, group support leaders, and educators.
