Announcing Auditions for the
Cal U Jazz Ensemble
Anyone interested in auditioning for the Cal U Jazz Ensemble, please send an email to Dr. Sharer at sharer@calu.edu – you will receive a reply with (1) instructions, (2) audition music, (3) mp3 recordings, and (4) your audition time. Please provide the following information in your initial email to Dr. Sharer:
1. Name
2. Instrument
3. Are you available to participate both fall & spring semesters
4. Do you have conflicts or course overlaps (including 6pm night classes) with rehearsals
AUDITIONS:
Tuesday, September 24th – Woodwinds (Alto, Tenor, & Bari Saxes)
Thursday, September 26th – Brass (Trumpets & Trombones)
Tuesday, October 1st – Rhythm Section (Piano, Guitar, Bass, & Drums)
Auditions will take place in the band room (GAL 204).
Results will be posted on Wednesday, October 2nd on the band room door. First rehearsal will be Thursday, October 3rd.
The Cal U Jazz Ensemble is a course, MUS 196-01, and available for credit. The Jazz Ensemble rehearses on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 4pm – 6pm in the band room (GAL 204).
