Donations Needed for Activist Club!
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic Violence is something that crosses gender, race, and class lines: it can happen to anyone at any time. Activist Club is getting active to help those affected by domestic violence. On October 17, 2013, there will be an “Activists in Action” presentation to discuss domestic violence, and then we will be putting together Ted Talks, or stuffed animals with blankets, children’s books, and journals for children in local domestic violence shelters.
We need YOUR help to make this happen. In order to complete this Ted Talk project, we need to following items donated:
· Gently used/new Stuffed animals
· Throw blankets
· Fleece material to make blankets
· Gently used/new children’s books
· Journals, composition notebooks, notebooks
Any donations, big or small, will make such a difference. Donations are being accepted until October 15th, 2013. Any donations can be dropped off at Azorsky 136 (Women’s Studies Office), or pick-ups can be arranged with Amber Preston (email@example.com). Thank you!
“How lovely to think that no one need wait a moment, we can start now, start slowly changing the world! How lovely that everyone, great and small, can make their contribution toward introducing justice straightaway... And you can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!” ― Anne Frank
