Upward Bound at California University is now accepting applications for residential staff positions (Resident Assistants and Resident Tutors) with the program’s upcoming 2014 Summer Academy, which will run from June 3 to July 10. This is an excellent opportunity for education or human service majors, or anyone hoping to work with youth in the future!
Applicants must be enrolled in college or hold a bachelor’s degree, have earned at least 60 college credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5, and be able to successfully complete a criminal background check. Preference will be given to those who have worked in residence halls or with Upward Bound or similar programs in the past.
As part of the staff selection process, selected applicants will be invited to a mandatory group hiring process on either Thursday, March 6 or Saturday, March 8 and, if further selected, an individual interview prior to final selection. All positions require living in an on-campus residence hall, which is paid for by Upward Bound. Meals are also provided while students are on campus (typically from Sunday evenings through Thursday afternoons).
For more information or an application, please visit http://www.calu.edu/academics/colleges/education/academic-development/upward-bound/index.htm and look under “2014 Summer Residential Staff Applications & Information” to the right.
Completed applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 21.
