Membership in a fraternity or sorority offers many

 leadership opportunities including:

Ø  Executive boards – holding an office gives students an opportunity to gain skills and hands-on experience that can help with future career paths, learn how to delegate and manage, how to plan and organize events, how to budget, public speaking skills, and time management skills.

Ø  Scholarship - all fraternities and sororities have an expectation of high academic standards.  Students are here for an education first.

Ø  Community Service/Philanthropy – California University of PA has a strong culture of philanthropy; fraternities and sororities exemplify this through their support of local and national philanthropies.  They give back to the local community by volunteering at the local food pantry, shoveling snow throughout the community, town clean-ups and collecting and donating supplies to local schools to name a few. Each organization supports national philanthropies such as Special Olympics, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, hearing impaired, Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer’s research and many more.

Ø  Social – Students participate in intramurals and Greek Week, date parties, formal events and other fun-filled social events.  As a member of the Greek community, students find a special closeness with sorority sisters and fraternity brothers that will last a lifetime.
