The IRS recently announced that over 100,000 taxpayer’s information was compromised through the Online “Get Transcript” portal. This is the portal where taxpayers can print their Tax Return Transcripts directly off the IRS Website. The IRS has shut down the online portal and is in the process of notifying anyone who was affected by this breach.

If you are a student selected for Financial Aid Verification and the Financial Aid Office is requesting a copy of your Tax Return Transcript, you will not be able to print your Tax Return Transcript directly from of the IRS website. Currently the IRS is only offering to mail Tax Return Transcripts. There are two ways to request your Tax Return Transcript to be mailed to you. You can call the IRS at 1-800-908-9946 or go to the IRS website and select “Get Transcript of Your Records.” It will take 2-4 weeks to receive your Tax Return Transcript once it is requested.
