Tri-Alpha is proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for our first induction class for the Cal U National Honor Society class.

 

Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) is a national honors society for first-generation college students. The purpose of this organization is to recognize academic achievements in first-generation college students, create enthusiasm for scholarship, to promote leadership, and to provide support networks for first-generation students within and across college chapters. California University of PA’s Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha is one of the first dozen chapters in the nation. As members of the inaugural pledge class you will play a pivotal role in shaping this exciting new organization and will have the opportunity to assume leadership roles.  The advisors are Cody Deitz, first gen staff from University Housing, and Dr. Codie Stone, a first gen faculty professor for Sociology.  

 

In order to qualify to be nationally recognized, students must meet all the following criteria:  

·         The student has earned at least 30 credits towards an associate’s or baccalaureate degree  

·         The student has completed at least two semesters  

·         The student has achieved an overall GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale  

·         Neither of the student's parents nor guardians have completed a bachelor’s degree.  

  

Induction:  The Formal induction ceremony will take place via Zoom on Sunday, May 2nd at 2pm.  

Cost: There is a one-time $25 membership fee to join. (This is standard with honor societies).
