The Manderino Library needs several student workers for various positions during the Fall 2021 semester. Areas include, but are not limited to, the Borrowing Desk and Research Desks. Prior experience is not necessary and qualified students can start this semester. Employment may be offered continuously, during subsequent semesters, for good employees.

Schedule is negotiable based on library needs, service area, and student availability.

Borrowing and Reserves Desk
Students interested in working at the Borrowing Desk should contact Ms. Birkinsha in person at the Borrowing Desk or via email at birkinsha@calu.edu or by calling 724-938-4092. Positions here are available throughout the day, evenings, and Sundays.

Research Desk
Primarily, Research Desk work study students connect students with the appropriate library faculty who can help them with their research. However, other fun possibilities exist such as helping with our therapy dog events, creating displays, and designing posters for our programs.

The type of person who typically enjoys this position loves working with people, is friendly, outgoing, and enjoys learning. Our experience is that Education and English majors especially have fun in this job but we employ students from a variety of majors. Prior experience is not necessary. This position works directly with the librarians.

Students interested in working at the Research Desk should contact Dr. Sittler via email at sittler@calu.edu. Please be sure to include your major, why you are interested in this position, and the hours you are available to work Monday-Friday between 9am-6pm.

Interviews will start immediately. Open until filled. Previous applicants are encouraged to resubmit materials.
