Our Cal U campus is mourning the loss of student Branson King, who passed away this weekend. During times such as these, students may wish to speak with a counselor. People may have many different reactions such as fatigue, confusion, frustration, poor memory, fear or guilt.  Others may notice themselves not feeling affected at all, which is perfectly OK.  Please focus on keeping your routine; provide self-care such as trying your best to get good nutrition, healthy sleep, and time around others; and avoid major life decisions for the moment.

If you notice your difficulties continuing, please contact Rachel Michaels at michaels_r@calu.edu if you would like assistance finding counseling services in your local area.

Below are some additional support services that are free for students to use:

If you are in crisis and immediate help is required, please call 911. For crisis situations and urgent concerns, you may contact SPHS (Washington County) at 1-877-225-3567, Resolve Crisis Network (Allegheny County) at 1-888-796-8226, or 911. If you are located outside of Washington or Allegheny County, we encourage you to call your county’s crisis line or 911.
