Residence Life & Housing is looking to hire 2 Graduate Hall Directors for Fall 2022/Spring 2023. Reporting to an Assistant Director (AD) in the Residence Life & Housing Office, a Graduate Hall Director is responsible for referring residents to campus and community resources, facilitating opportunities for social and professional connections, and supporting a safe and inclusive community for residents to pursue their academic and professional goals.
In fulfilling duties, Graduate Hall Directors work closely with and are supported by professionals within Residence Life & Housing.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
-Applicants must be admitted into a master’s level degree seeking program and meet all entrance qualifications established by the Cal U School of Graduate Studies.
-Though we accept applicants of all academic programs, the GHD experience would be directly practical for students in the Conflict Resolution, Counseling, Psychology, and Education-based programs.
-Must complete a University Housing Contract
-Prior residence life staff/residence hall experience is preferred.
-Must be a full-time graduate student (enrolled in 9 in-state credits).
-Maintain a 3.0GPA
-Must demonstrate a commitment to the University’s core values of integrity, civility, and responsibility.
-Hold daily office hours (minimum of 2 per day)
-Must live in the residence hall during the term of employment, on a floor assigned by the Assistant Director.
-Must be able to work a very flexible and primarily unstructured schedule.
-Participate in all staff training sessions.
-Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director.
-Graduate Assistant positions are for 4 semesters only.
