Take one or both of these exciting Natural Science classes this summer! The courses are 3-credit, 5-week, and 100% online. Both courses are asynchronous and designed for flexible completion to fit into your busy summer plans. You can find them under Earth Science list on the MyPennwest portal. AEAS 105 Extreme Weather: May 31 - July 1, 2022 

This course discusses a variety of extreme weather phenomena in a descriptive style that does not require advanced mathematical knowledge. Course includes topics like thunderstorms, thunderstorm complexes, tornadoes, hurricanes, extreme snowfall events, blizzards floods, droughts and downslope windstorms.

 

AEAS 163 Introduction to Oceans and Climate:  July 5 – August 4, 2022 

This course examines the world oceans from an Earth system perspective. Specifically, it is designed to be an introduction in the study of oceanography with additional focus on oceans’ role in our planet’s climate.
