Vote for Cal U in the 2012 iOme Money Smart Week Video Contest.

Vote now for California University’s submission into the 2012 iOme Money Smart Week Video Contest.

The iOme (as in “I owe me”) is a national effort to engage young people to think about their financial future. What started as a group of concerned citizens from Green Bay, Wis., grew into a national contest among colleges and universities across the United States.

Students Tamara Al-Khattar, Courtney Cochran, Camilla Cionni and Maria Herrera are representing Cal U in this year’s contest.

Teams had to complete two components: a 10,000-word essay and a 60-second video that addresses a specific topic.

This year’s topic focused on the decreasing use of savings by younger generations and how teams would propose to change that trend and increase savings rates.

Judges concluded that Cal U’s video was among the top 10 entries, but now the team needs your help!

Videos are posted online and the public is encouraged to vote for a winner.

Vote for Cal U now.

The winning team will receive $250 and a framed, signed letter from a senator or congressman.

Voting deadline has been extended to 12:59 a.m. May 2 (11:59 p.m. Central time).
