EXPLORE STEM AT MONTHLY FAMILY PLAY LAB

Explore and learn with your family at the Cal U Center for Innovation at Southpointe! Family Play Lab gives parents and their children a chance to share hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering and math.

Family Play Lab is held monthly, with sessions for both elementary students (grades 3-5) and middle school students (grades 6-8). At least one student must fall within the grade range selected, and an adult must accompany all children.

Cost is $20 per family, payable upon registration; fees are nonrefundable. 

Family Play Lab Dates and Topics

  • Saturday, November 22 – Video Game Design
    Elementary (Grades 3-5): 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
    Middle (Grade 6-8): Noon-2 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 13 – Space Travel
    Elementary (Grades 3-5): 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
    Middle (Grade 6-8): Noon-2 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 17 – Animation
    Elementary (Grades 3-5): 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
    Middle (Grade 6-8): Noon-2 p.m.

Seating is limited, so please register no more than four (4) family members in all. If a Family Play Lab session is filled, e-mail Chris Allen at allen@calu.edu and we’ll add your name to our waiting list.
