  • ONLINE UNDERGRADUATES EARN TIMELY DEGREES

    Nine out of 10 students who begin an online bachelor's degree program at Cal U earn their diploma within six years. That success rate earned Cal U a No. 4 ranking on the U.S. News Short List, published online by U.S. News and World Report.

  • VULCAN FLYER SERVICE AFFECTED BY WEATHER

    Because of poor road conditions, Vulcan Flyer service may be suspended temporarily this afternoon. Service will resume once roadways are deemed safe for travel.

    A power outage is scheduled for 6-7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in order to make electrical repairs. Watkins, Hamer, New Science, Old Main, South, Helsel and Vulcan Halls are expected to be without power for approximately one hour.

    Three inductees into the 2014-2015 Cal U Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted officially at a luncheon, set for 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the south wing of the Cal U Convocation Center.

    Poet John Hoppenthaler will read from his work at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Chapel, inside Old Main. The author, formerly a personal assistant to novelist Toni Morrison, has published two volumes of poetry, and a third is slated for publication this year.

    More than 100 peer educators from a three-state region are expected to attend the BACCHUS regional conference Feb. 28 in the Convocation Center. The organization works to prevent drug and alcohol abuse on campuses nationwide.

    Artworks by current and former students will be displayed on all three floors of Vulcan Hall during 'Back to the Drawing Boards,' a juried award show Feb. 19-20. Two bands are slated to appear at the free opening reception.

    Military veterans at Cal U or in the community can visit a Mobile Vet Center on campus from 11:30-3 p.m. Feb. 10. The mobile center provides nonmedical readjustment counseling and outreach to veterans and their families.
