Meteorology Club Colloquia Series
Climatologist Nolan Doesken

As part of its spring Colloquia Series, the Cal U Meteorology Club presents Nolan Doesken, a climatologist for the state of Colorado, at 5 p.m. March 24 in Eberly Hall.

Doesken is state climatologist for the Colorado Climate Center at Colorado State University.

He maintains weather station networks across the state and accesses weather data from the National Weather Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Doesken’s interests include climate monitoring and long-term climate trends, as well as precipitation, including floods and drought.

He leads the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, a volunteer program to help track and map precipitation. The network has nearly 20,000 volunteers in all 50 states, as well as Canada.
