FAMILY DAY 2016 ACTIVITIES GO ON RAIN OR SHINE

Students share their Cal U pride with parents, siblings, relatives and friends on our 2016 Family Day, Sept. 17. Activities for all ages give families a chance to enjoy time together and experience the best of Cal U.

Unless noted, all events are free.

Family Day activities

NOTE: A forecast of rain mean a change in location for some Family Day activities. See changes below!

  • 10 a.m. — Registration, information desk, Natali Student Center.
  • 10 a.m. — Free concert by the University Choir, planned for the Convocation Center courtyard, will now be held in Morgan Hall auditorium.)
  • 10:45 a.m.— Presentation of the Jennie Carter Award, planned for the Convocation Center courtyard, will now be held in Morgan Hall auditorium. This year’s award recipient is former administrator Alan James ’62. (Rain location: Convocation Center lobby)
  • 11 a.m.-2 p.m. — Family Fun Zone activities, planned for Third Street near the Natali Student Center, have moved inside the student center. 
  • Noon — Free movie, Vulcan Theater. Additional showings at 4, 8 and 11 p.m.
  • 12:30 -4:30 p.m. — 11th annual Family Field Day, organized by the student chapter of The Wildlife Society, in and around Frich Hall. Activities focus on wildlife and nature. If rain persists, activities will move inside Frich Hall.
  • 1 p.m. — Vulcan football, Cal U vs. Millersville, Adamson Stadium. Ticket price is $10; visiting students pay $5; Cal U students, faculty and staff with valid CalCards are admitted free, along with children ages 12 and younger. Kids Zone and Vulcan Huddle alumni tent open at 11 a.m. Outdoor activities will continue unless lightning occurs.
  • 3:30 p.m. — Women's soccer, Cal U vs. West Chester, Phillipsburg Soccer Facility
  • 5 p.m. — President’s Showcase: Hidden Treasures, cocktail reception with hearty hors d’oeuvres, Convocation Center lobby. Cost is $125; proceeds support scholarships.
  • 6 p.m. — Men's soccer, Cal U vs. West Chester, Phillipsburg Soccer Facility
  • 6 p.m. — Volleyball, Cal U vs. Daemen (N.Y.), Hamer Hall
  • 7:30 p.m. — Third annual President’s Showcase talent show, Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre. Ticket price is $10, free for students with valid CalCards; proceeds support scholarships.
  • 9 p.m. — FIREWORKS CANCELED because of inclement weather.
