REGIONAL ENDS WITH VULCANS IN 13TH PLACE

The men’s golf team concluded its season by finishing in 13th place at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championships.
 
Senior Kirby Manown shot a 3 over-par 75 in the third and final round. Manown and classmate Tyler Robinson were the Vulcans’ top individuals, finishing in a tie for 35th overall. 

The three-round tournament took place at The Resort at Glade Springs, in Daniels, W.Va.


Update: May 9, 2017

The men’s golf team is 34 over-par and in seventh place after the second round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championships.
 
Senior Kirby Manown and sophomore Jerome Landry both shot 4 over-par 76 in the second round.

Senior Tyler Robinson is the Vulcans’ top individual through two rounds. He is 8 over-par and tied for 32nd place heading into the final day.

The men’s golf team is 14 over-par and in fourth place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championships. 
 
Senior Alex Patricio was 1 under--par 71 in the first round and is tied for third place heading into the second day. 
 
The three-round tournament continues May 9 at The Resort at Glade Springs, in Daniels, W.Va.

The men’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championships May 8-10 at The Resort at Glade Springs, in Daniels, W.Va.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two golfers not with a team from each regional will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships, set for May 22-26 at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee, Fla.

Cal U, Mercyhurst, IUP, West Chester,and Millersville were the PSAC teams selected to compete in the 20-team regional event.

This marks the 10th consecutive year that the Cal U men’s golf team has competed in the NCAA Regional contest. The team last qualified for the NCAA National Championship in 2013, when Cal U finished in 20th place.
