Homecoming Parking and Transportation 2019

Campus Parking

Free visitor parking is available Oct. 12 –13 in Lot 4 (River Lot).

Parking at Roadman Park on Oct. 12 is $10.

Flat-rate meter parking is available from 3 p.m. Oct. 11 to 11:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the pay-by-license metered lots behind the Natali Student Center (Lot 17) and Gallagher Hall (Lot 11).

Lot Closures

LOT 8, 11, and 21 – These LOT closures will occur at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 and remain in effect until 8 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 12.

LOT 8 – Behind Helsel will be closed to all parking to accommodate parade floats for the preview party.

LOT 21 will be closed to accommodate bumper cars. 

LOT 11 will be closed and be used for Marching bands and parade vehicles.

LOT 2 will be open to permit holders and those attending the President’s Circle brunch and visiting Alumni.

Road Closures

Beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 Third Street will be closed on campus, and Hickory Street will be closed from Sixth to Third Street to accomodate the parade. 

Campus road closures will continue through the day.

In the borough, no parking will be permitted from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 12 on Second Street (200 to 500 blocks), Third Street (200 and 400 blocks) and Union Street (200 block).

Note: Borough police will ticket vehicles parked along the parade route beginning at 9 a.m. Oct. 12. After 10 a.m., vehicles parked along the route will be towed.

Shuttles – Take us to the game!

Vulcan Flyers will make runs to campus from 8 -11 a.m. and will break for the homecoming parade.

Service will resume immediately after the Homecoming Parade, the shuttle’s stop at Booker Towers to take football fans to Adamson Stadium, extra buses will be in service to transport students and visitors to the Football game.

Friday

Vulcan Flyers will operate normal schedule 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Saturday

Vulcan Flyers 
Vulcan Flyers will operate from 9 a.m. until the conclusion of the 5K race. Service will resume immediately after the Homecoming Parade. Extra buses will be in service beginning at 2 p.m. to transport students, visitors and alumni to the football game, which starts at 4 p.m. Shuttle service between Roadman Park and the main campus will continue after the parade until 11 p.m.

The Flyers will be utlizing new stops in the borough:

  • In-Bound Stops: 3rd St. & Union Street, 3rd St. & Wood Street (Kwik Fill)

  • Out-Bound Stops: 3rd St. & Wood (Rite Aid), 3rd St. & Union Street.

The shuttle to Walmart will run from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Soccer Shuttle
There will also be a shuttle to the Cal U vs. IUP soccer game at Philipsburg facility. From 11 a.m. - noon and 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Sunday

Service on Sunday, Oct. 13, will run from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with hourly Walmart service from 1-6 p.m. The last bus returning to campus at 7 p.m.
