As a commuter student you'll have full access to the University's recreation center, clubs and organizations , Career and Professional Development Center, and health and wellness services. Our 294-acre California campus is full of activity.

Your Home Away from Home

 

Refuel, study and relax between classes. The Energy Zone is a "home base" for commuter students located in the heart of campus in the Natali Student Center and Commuter Break Pods throughout campus ensure you have a place of your own wherever you are. Commuter student amenities include:

  • Phone and computer charging stations.
  • Lockers to store your stuff.
  • A kitchenette with fridge and microwave.
  • Ample seating and work areas.
  • Vending machines.
  • Places to socialize and watch TV.

Commuter Student Activities

When you commute to PennWest California, you're entering into a community. Take part in activities planned with non-traditional students and their families in mind, such as visits to the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Meetings & Events

Stay in the loop on what's important to you. The Commuter Council keeps you up-to-date on services for commuter and non-traditional students. Every month the council meets over refreshments and snacks to exchange information and ideas, hold Q&As with University staff, get tips from guest speakers and more.

Transportation Services

Commuting can be complicated, which is why we make it easy at PennWest California. We offer on-campus parking and shuttle services, and through the MTVA you have access to free park-and-ride services, convenient bus routes for commuter students and Emergency Ride Home transportation.
