California University of Pennsylvania women's cross country team placed 26th in the team standings at the NCAA National Championships.
Belko placed 25th overall in a field of over 260 runners at the Bob O'Connor Golf
Course at Schenley Park on Dec. 1, which was the site of the NCAA Atlantic Regional
Championships two weeks ago. She finished with a time of 23 minutes, 16.6 seconds
on Saturday to pace all runners from the Atlantic Region at the national meet. Belko
earned NCAA All-America laurels for the third time in her career, as she previously
received the honor at the NCAA Division III level in the 3,000-meter steeplechase
at the 2017 NCAA Championships and the 2017 NCAA Cross Country National Championships
while at Stockton (N.J.).
The Vulcans finished 26th in the team standings with 651 points while making their
third appearance at the event in four years. Grand Valley State cruised to its sixth
national championship in the last nine years with 41 points behind four of the top-10
finishers. Mary (N.D.) finished in second place for the second-straight year with
83 points and defending-National Champion Adams State (Colo.) placed third in the
team standings with 90 points.
