With big smiles and big plans for networking and job interviews, about 90 students stopped by the Convocation Center on April 30 and May 1 to select clothing and accessories provided by Dress for Success Pittsburgh.

The event, held each semester and organized by Cal U’s Center for Career and Professional Development, also included a professional dress workshop with Jill Thomas, a talent acquisition manager. Students also received professional hair and makeup advice, professional photography for portfolios and online profiles, and personalized measurements for men.

“They taught me a new trick to lengthen my curls,” said senior graphic design major Rachel Fisher. “I don’t have the time to go out and pick what looks good. It’s nice to try something on here and get a professional’s opinion about how it looks.”

“I love to see the confidence this gives t our students,” said Bridgett Nobili, assistant director of the Career and Professional Development Center. “They really come alive with a sense of professionalism. It’s a teachable moment, providing them with some real-life information about how to launch a successful career.”
